Colorado has many areas where sea and touring kayaks
work really well.
Sea kayaks and touring
kayaks are wonderful vehicles for exploring lakes, coastlines, bird watching,
whale watching, fishing, camping or keeping fit and just plain enjoying
the outdoors. They are fun for all ages and well suited for beginner kayakers.
Join us for a safe and fun start! This clinic is designed specifically for
the sea kayaker and touring kayaker, and covers strokes, turns, equipment, oufitting your kayak, launching/landing,
bracing, emergency signals, deep water rescue techniques, towing and being towed and other "must
knows" of kayaking. The eskimo roll can be covered in one of our roll classes. Our class will get you started with the proper techniques and a solid foundation that will help you for years to come.
This class is run on Wed. evenings 5-7pm
The gear package is the use of a wetsuit and wetsuit boots.
All specialty equipment is provided (sea kayak, paddle, spray skirt, PFD, paddle jacket). All you need to bring is the same personal equipment as you would wear to the beach: sunscreen, sunglasses, something to get wet in (swimsuit), wetsuit booties or river sandals (Chacos, Tevas, etc.), a hat, a bottle of water, and a snack. For extra warmth, you may also rent our farmer john wetsuit and boots.

Refund Policy
Classes cancelled 48 hours or more in advance are able to be rescheduled (subject to availability) without penalty. Within 48 hours of the class start time, funds are committed and you will be charged for the class. Refunds will only be given if RA Guides is unable to provide the class as described.
